  • Climatic Category: To be worn in extreme cold weather and with the Cold Weather CVC Clothing.
  • Concept Of Use: To be worn by ground combat vehicle crewman to provide the hands of these personal environmental insulation, a high degree of dexterity when required for specific duties, additional and essential flame protection, and increase of the confidence level and survivability in the event of fire. When a high degree of dexterity is not required, the standard cold weather handwear will be worn over the Cold weather CVC handwear for maximum environmental protection.
  • Description Of Item: The gloves are of the 4 finger and thumb design, having an insulated sandwiched fabric on the back of the hand, thumb and front of wrist. The fourchettes are comprised of 2 layers of polyamide. The front of the fingers, thumb and palm will be of fabric covered leather. An elastic take-up will be used on the front of the wrist.
  • Materials Used: The leather is perspiration resistant and water repellent cattlehide; the fabrics are high temperature resistant.
  • Color: The leather is black and the fabric is Olive Green 106.
