Concept Of Use: The helmet is intended to provide increased
ballistic protection to the head, temple, ear and neck areas
against fragmenting munitions.
Description Of Item: The helmet is a one-piece ballistic protecting
item which is in four sizes. It has a small visor and covers the
front of the head, the temple region, the ears and occipital
region. The helmet contains a cradle suspension system. A buckle
is used to adjust the circumferential headband, and a Velcro
pull-tab is used to make the drawstring height adjustment. The
chinstrap is a two point suspension open chin cup having two
adjustable buckles and a single pull-the-dot snap fastener
closure on the left side. A camouflage cover is provided with
the helmet.

Description Of Item: The suspension system is a cradel type
that is attached to the helmet with screws and threaded A washers
This feature allows replacement while minimizing the amount of
hardware on the inside of the helmet and thereby reducing the
possibility of injury from impact. The material is 2.54 cm
nylon webbing with a self-compensating drawstring type
adjustment with Velcro tab. The headband utilizes Velcro pile
to cushion the headband clips and prevent contact with the head.
The chin strap employs pivots at the attachment points to provide
better comfort and incorporates a new style buckle for easier
adjustment.
